A Course in Mindfulness

This mindfulness course is an 6-8 week course where you will learn to wake up to your life, as it is, and to guide yourself to more ease, well-being and happiness. It is ideally suited for those dealing with chronic illness, pain, stress, anxiety or insomnia. You will learn meditation, experience the benefits of gentle stretching (yoga) and gain self-awareness. Participants meet weekly for 1.5-2 hours plus one 6 hour session for a total of 18 hours of instruction. (more info)

Group Meditation

4:45 PM - 5:15 PM, Tuesdays, Garden Level - Holy Angels Room, Mother Gamelin Center (#6 on linked map), on Sacred Heart Campus. The Holy Angels Room is at the far north end of the hallway on the garden level. If you'd like to arrive via the Healing Garden, the door off of the garden to the Mother Gamelin Center will be unlocked. If driving, I recommend arriving at the East entrance and parking on 9th Ave at a meter. There are a few handicap spots if you drive in the driveway. You will take the stairs or the elevator one floor down if you use the East entrance. This sitting time is free and open to the public.

Please enter quietly and comfortably take your seat on a chair, couch or your own cushion on the floor. The usual format consists of 20-30 minutes of guided mindfulness meditation, various readings and recordings as well as an occasional walking meditation in the garden. An optional 15 minutes of discussion often follows the sitting time. The bells will ring at 4:45 and 5:15, please respect this time of stillness by arriving on time.
